It was 2021

In 2015, I wrote an article titled, Reviewing 2021‘ which looked forward to a year that would ultimately pose significant challenges for America. The piece detailed pivotal events in U.S. history, each occurring in 120-year intervals from 1541 A.D. to 2021 A.D., all of which played a foundational role in the nation’s development and governance. The year 2021, marked by the commencement of the Biden administration, saw a series of transformative developments: the January 6 events at the U.S. Capitol; the withdrawal from Afghanistan, which left behind $7 billion in military equipment; the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines; and the introduction of drag events in public schools and the White House. The year was also characterized by contentious debates regarding women’s sports and broader gender issues. In my view, these events stem from a widespread moral failure in leadership and signal America’s decline on the world stage.
